Good morning, Bloggers!
If you learned to SHARE in kindergarten throw that idea away and DON’T SHARE. If you welcome your friends with a HUG stop doing it. This sounds a little harsh, but if you’re a parent who has children with lice, or you are a mother with lice you know exactly what I’m talking about.

khou1It’s embarrassing and difficult to talk about but it’s a real problem in our area and around the world, LICE. About 1 out of 4 children between the ages of 3 and 11 years old have lice. About 1 out of every 4 of the mothers of those children also carries the nasty bugs. Most parents try every over-the-counter shampoo, spray, gel and ointment they can get their hands on. Some mothers take matters into their own hands and spend hours trying to kill the little suckers but time and time again the parasites wins. Penny Warner was one of those mothers. She says she tried everything, researched, spent a lot of money on over-the-counter remedies and nothing seemed to work. But the critical care nurse put her frustration to work. She created the first TEXAS LICE SQUAD and started making money from the bugs that were sucking her dry. The Texas Lice Squad is one of a few clinics of its kind in the nation. The nearest similar clinic is in Florida. That’s why it’s common to see people from our surrounding states visit her office. But perhaps the most impressive commute is from a client who traveled from AFRICA to Houston to get rid of the tiny blood sucking human parasites.

khou2Here are a few common misconceptions Penny Warner says every parent should know.
1. Lice can jump: Myth.
2. Lice can live on couches: Myth
3. Lice live on toys: Myth
4. You have to clean your house to get rid of lice: Myth
5. Kerosene kills lice:MYTH! (PENNY SAYS DO NOT TRY THIS! IT’S A MYTH!)
6. Hair dye Kills lice: Myth

khou3Here are the names of the products the Texas Lice Squad uses to service its costumers:
1. NitFree Terminator Comb
2. Nitfree Mousse
3. NitFree Mint Spray

Tossing the old ‘SHARE EVERYTHING’ rule you learned in kindergarten doesn’t apply here… The only way to stop lice is to stop sharing them with friends and family.

Check out the art on the walls of the Texas Lice Squad! A lot of children are not embarrassed about lice. If the nasty little critters embarrass you, frustrate you and have taken over your life it might be time to ask a professional a question…
